A Colour Handbook of Skin Diseases of the Dog and Cat was first published in 1998. It was one of the first books to
bring key information about skin diseases to first-opinion clinicians in an easy to use problem-orientated format. By 2009 the huge growth in knowledge about skin conditions necessitated an updated and almost completely rewritten second edition.
Subsequent exponential growth in veterinary dermatology has led to the discovery of new conditions, development of new approaches to management and effective new treatment options. In this third edition, we have completely revised and updated the chapters while retaining the problem-based approach.
